Oman will field five athletes at the World Bodybuilding Championships in Barcelona, Spain, from October 29 to November 2, with the national team targeting podium finishes across bodybuilding and physique events.

Ahmed al Hasani and Khalid al Shukaili will compete in bodybuilding, while Nasr al Wahaibi will contest the muscular physique category. Issa al Yaarubi will take part in classic physique, with Abdulmajeed al Raisi representing Oman in men’s physique.

The delegation is led by Mohammed al Araimi and includes team administrator Abdulsalam al Dughaishi, national coach Habib al Balushi and photographer Salim al Zaidi.

The five athletes earned their places following their performances at the 20th Oman Bodybuilding Championships in June. The domestic competition provided an important platform to assess athletes’ form and identify those best prepared to represent the Sultanate of Oman internationally.

The squad has since undergone an extensive preparation programme, with sustained gym training focused on improving conditioning and refining the technical aspects of their performances ahead of the world championships.

Oman’s participation offers the athletes an opportunity to test themselves against leading international competitors, gain experience and build on the progress of bodybuilding in the country.

INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS

Alongside the competition, Imad al Din al Salti, Chairman of the Oman Bodybuilding Committee, will attend the international bodybuilding congress, which will include the international federation’s general assembly elections.

His participation will ensure Oman’s representation in discussions on the sport’s development and future direction.

The championship forms part of the committee’s efforts to strengthen Oman’s international presence and provide national athletes with greater exposure to competition at the highest level. The experience is also expected to support their development and preparations for future international assignments.
