MUSCAT: Six students from Bodhi Life and Skills Academy will represent Oman at the third edition of the Okinawa Karate Tournament and World Festival, to be held in Japan from July 29 to August 6, where athletes from more than 80 countries are expected to compete.

The Omani contingent will be led by Renshi G Kumar, who said the team is looking forward to testing its skills on the international stage after months of intensive preparation.

“We will first travel to Chennai, India, to participate in another competition before leaving for Japan. The students have trained rigorously for several months, and I am excited to accompany them to these prestigious events,” Renshi said.

He added that the tournaments will provide valuable international exposure for the young athletes while strengthening Oman’s growing presence in global karate competitions.
