Muscat: A trough of low pressure is expected to affect parts of the Arabian Sea coast in Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates from Friday evening, October 2, until Saturday, October 3, the Civil Aviation Authority said.

In a notice issued on October 1, the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre said an upper-air trough would bring chances of scattered rain, which could be accompanied by thunderstorms at times. Its impact is expected to be limited.

Rainfall could vary in intensity and become heavy in some areas, with the possibility of flow in some wadis and ravines. Other expected effects include active winds, rising dust and reduced horizontal visibility.

The centre urged attention to the expected weather conditions and associated hazards.
