The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has revealed details regarding the apprehension of suspects caught in possession of illicit drugs valued at over RO 70,000.
To disguise their movements and execute their criminal activities, the suspects relied on sophisticated tactics, including frequently swapping commercial license plates and using forged identification. The operation involved meticulous prior planning and ongoing negotiations to transport the drugs from the Wilayat of Shinas to the Governorate of Muscat, aiming to complete the delivery just before the distribution phase began. To evade law enforcement, the suspects avoided standard routes, constantly altering their path while maintaining continuous communication.
The primary objective of the ROP was to intercept the shipment before it reached its final destination. Through intensive surveillance, route tracking, and monitoring of the suspects' movements, investigation and search teams—operating in cooperation with the Special Tasks Police—executed a coordinated strike at the decisive moment.
The accused were successfully arrested and found in possession of crystal methamphetamine with an estimated market value exceeding RO 70,000.
