The O+ blood stock is experiencing a significant decrease, and the Department of Blood Bank Services (DBBS) have requested donors to start donating today.

The DBBS said there is a need for more than 170 units of blood to reach the safe level.

"We urgently appeal to you to donate today in Boshar or Al Seeb as the stock of blood type positive is critically low," DBBS stated.

A number of hematology patients are waiting for this blood type to become available this week.

The urgent blood appeal came as O positive blood stocks have fallen significantly.

Several patients with blood disorders are awaiting this blood group this week.

The timings at the Seeb Blood Donation Center is 3lm to 9 pm from Sunday to Friday and the Blood Bank Bousher is open from 8 am to 8 pm Saturday through Thursday, while on Friday from 8 am to 1 pm.

O-positive (O+) blood can donate red blood cells to any person with an Rh-positive blood type. This includes people with O+, A+, B+, and AB+ blood groups. It is one of the most common and heavily requested blood types in hospitals.
