Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a circular asking travellers and airlines operating in the Sultanate of Oman to ensure that passengers arriving from Ebola-affected countries complete the Electronic Health Self Declaration Form.
The circular, issued on June 22, 2026, follows epidemiological updates from the World Health Organization indicating the continued outbreak of Ebola disease caused by the Bundibugyo virus strain, with an increase in confirmed, suspected and probable cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda.
According to the CAA, the measure has been taken in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Medical Response Sector to strengthen health surveillance at points of entry.
The declaration requirement applies to nationals of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, as well as passengers arriving from either country or those who have visited them within 21 days before arriving in Oman.
The Ministry of Health also issued a notice asking arriving travellers to complete the Electronic Health Declaration Form before or upon arrival by scanning the provided QR code. Travellers have been requested to declare any travel, stay or transit within the past 21 days to countries or areas affected by Ebola disease or any other public health event of concern.
