MUSCAT: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will organise the Omani-Tunisian Business Forum on June 17, Wednesday, with the participation of business owners, officials, and representatives of companies and economic institutions from both countries.
The Omani-Tunisian Business Forum is held as part of ongoing efforts to enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Oman and the Republic of Tunisia.
The forum aims to expand cooperation between the private sectors of both countries, providing business owners with an opportunity to explore available investment opportunities and discuss the possibility of establishing partnerships and joint ventures that contribute to developing trade and strengthening economic integration between the two sides.
The forum will focus on promising economic sectors of mutual interest, including food industries, renewable energy, textiles, and agricultural promotion. It will witness bilateral meetings between representatives of companies and institutions from both sides to discuss cooperation opportunities and exchange expertise.
Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI Board of Directors, said that the forum comes within the framework of the OCCI’s keenness to strengthen economic cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries and to enable Omani private sector institutions to benefit from available investment and trade opportunities, thus contributing to supporting economic diversification efforts and enhancing the presence of Omani companies in regional and international markets.
He added that the Omani-Tunisian Business Forum is an opportunity to enhance direct communication between business owners in both countries and to explore areas of cooperation of mutual interest, particularly in sectors with promising growth potential, thereby contributing to building sustainable partnerships that benefit both sides.
Al Rawas noted that Omani-Tunisian relations are witnessing continuous development across various sectors, and that the private sector in both countries possesses ample opportunities to enhance economic and investment cooperation, particularly in areas related to food industries, renewable energy, manufacturing and agriculture.
He noted that the Chamber is continuously working to provide platforms that contribute to expanding the network of relationships between the Omani business community and its counterparts in various markets, which will positively impact the volume of trade and joint investments. — ONA
