

MUSCAT: A series of ceremonial, educational and cultural events were held in Odesa, Ukraine, to mark the 34th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Sultanate of Oman.
The commemorative programme began with a symphony concert at the Odesa National Philharmonic Hall and continued with a range of initiatives in the field of educational diplomacy. The International Humanitarian University in Odesa hosted a presentation titled 'Ukraine-Oman: The Historical and Diplomatic Foundation of Interstate Partnership'.
The event brought together members of the diplomatic corps, local authorities, academics, media representatives, members of the Arab diaspora in Odesa and university students.
The ceremony opened with the national anthems of Ukraine and Oman, followed by welcoming remarks from Olga Selykh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Sultanate of Oman, and Jamal bin Hassan al Mousawi, Secretary-General of the National Museum.
In their addresses, both dignitaries highlighted the importance of strengthening political, economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries, while emphasising the role of educational and humanitarian exchanges in deepening mutual understanding between the peoples of Ukraine and Oman.
