MECCA: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Omani Haj Mission, has been awarded the 'Labaytim' Award for Excellence in Services to the Guests of Allah – Silver Award – under the regional awards track in the Haj Affairs Offices category at the level of Islamic countries.

The recognition was announced by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in appreciation of the mission’s outstanding performance in delivering integrated services to Omani pilgrims and enhancing quality, compliance, and pilgrim satisfaction throughout the Haj journey.

The award aims to strengthen competitiveness among Haj affairs offices and improve the quality of services provided to pilgrims, based on rigorous evaluation criteria that assess operational performance, pilgrim satisfaction levels, compliance with regulations, and the implementation of awareness and quality initiatives.

The Omani Haj Mission was recognised for achieving high standards across several indicators, including operational efficiency, field service quality, awareness and guidance programmes, crowd management, and adherence to health and organisational guidelines. The mission also implemented a range of quality initiatives that enhanced the overall pilgrim experience.

Ahmed bin Saleh al Rashdi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs and Head of the Omani Haj Mission, said the achievement reflects the integrated efforts of all teams involved in serving Omani pilgrims.

He noted that the recognition underscores Oman’s commitment to delivering high-quality services in line with global best practices, and serves as an incentive to further develop and innovate service delivery systems in future Haj seasons.

He also highlighted the importance of continued cooperation with relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia, praising the efforts of the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah in advancing and improving services for pilgrims.

Al Rashidi expressed confidence that future seasons will see further enhancements through expanded quality initiatives, greater digital transformation, and improved workforce efficiency, contributing to a smoother and more seamless pilgrimage experience.

He stressed the mission’s commitment to adopting best practices, strengthening partnerships, and improving coordination with relevant entities to further elevate pilgrim satisfaction and reflect Oman’s strong reputation in serving the Guests of Allah. — ONA
