MUSCAT: Round 24 of the Jindal League produced another decisive set of results, with Dhofar boosting their position through a 2-0 win over Al Shabab, champions Seeb delivering a commanding 4-0 victory over Al Nahda and Samail edging Sohar 2-1 at Nizwa Sports Complex.

At Al Saada Sports Complex in Salalah, Dhofar collected three valuable points after defeating Al Shabab 2-0 in a lively contest. The two sides began with intent, although much of the early play was concentrated in midfield. Al Shabab threatened first through Badr al Alawi after a quick break, but his effort failed to trouble Dhofar goalkeeper Mazin al Kasbi.

The visitors came close again in the 19th minute when Ahmed al Riyami fired over from inside the area, but Dhofar gradually settled and responded with more purpose on the counter.

The breakthrough came in the 51st minute when Qasim Said met a precise delivery from Ammar Abid and guided the ball into the net beyond Abdulmalik al Badi.

Al Shabab pushed for a response and nearly reduced the deficit through substitute Mohammed al Ghafri, whose effort flew over the crossbar in the 65th minute. Dhofar, however, remained dangerous on the break and added a second through substitute Sultan Badr, who raced clear and finished confidently after another swift counter-attack.

Al Shabab continued to search for a way back, but their finishing let them down, with Yasin al Shiyadi missing a late chance in the 84th minute. The result lifted Dhofar to 24 points in 11th place, while Al Shabab stayed second on 50 points.

SEEB CONTINUE DOMINANCE

At Al Buraimi Sports Complex, already-crowned champions Seeb underlined their dominance with an emphatic 4-0 win over Al Nahda. The title holders made a brighter start and eventually took the lead in the 39th minute after a VAR review awarded a penalty, which Abdullah Fawaz converted calmly. Deep into first-half stoppage time, Zaher al Aghbari doubled the advantage after reacting quickest inside the area.

Seeb remained in control after the interval and took full advantage of Al Nahda being reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of Mohammed Faraj. Omar al Fazari added the third by turning in a cross from close range, before Abdullah Fawaz returned to complete the rout with his second goal of the night, sealing a convincing four-goal victory for Seeb, moving on to 63 points, while Al Nahda remained fourth on 44.

In the other match, Samayil secured an important 2-1 victory over Sohar at Nizwa Sports Complex. Hazza al Mushaifri struck both goals for Samayil, while Abdullah al Maqbali scored Sohar’s only goal. The win lifted Samayil to 25 points in ninth place, giving them a timely boost in the closing stretch of the campaign, while Sohar remained on 36 points in fifth.
