MUSCAT: Al Nahda booked their place in the quarterfinals of the His Majesty’s Cup football after a convincing 3–1 victory over Al Musannah in their Round of 16 clash, played at the Al Rustaq Sports Complex on Monday under the knockout format.

The match began at an even tempo, with both sides creating early opportunities without posing

significant danger, Al Nahda soon took control and opened the scoring through Hamad al Habsi, who converted a chance inside the penalty area to give his side the lead.

Al Nahda continued to press and doubled their advantage when Azzan al Tamimi struck from a swift counter-attack, exploiting space behind the Al Musannah defence. Just before the break, Misoki Berri added a third goal, capping a dominant first half display and sending Al Nahda into half-time with a commanding three-goal cushion.

Al Musannah emerged with renewed determination in the second half, pushing forward and creating

several scoring chances. Their efforts were eventually rewarded when Musab al Lamki found the net,

scoring the only goal of the second half for Al Musannah and briefly reviving hopes of a comeback.

However, Al Nahda managed the remainder of the match with composure, maintaining defensive

discipline and seeing out the contest to secure a deserved 3–1 win and progression to the next round of the prestigious competition.
