Muscat: The Ministry of Labour is expected to announce the official Eid Al Adha holiday dates in the Sultanate of Oman next week, with early indications pointing to a potential six-day break.

Preliminary expectations suggest that the holiday may begin on Arafat Day, likely to fall on Tuesday, May 26, and continue until Sunday, May 31. The final dates will be confirmed after the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent.

If confirmed, the extended holiday is likely to encourage early travel and leisure planning, with residents considering both domestic and international destinations during the Eid period.

Tourism and hospitality sectors typically witness increased activity ahead of Eid Al Adha, as families book accommodation and travel arrangements in advance. Popular destinations within the Sultanate of Oman, particularly coastal and mountain areas, are expected to see higher demand.

The official announcement will be issued by the Ministry of Labour following confirmation of the Islamic calendar dates.
