RIYADH: The Sultanate of Oman participated on Wednesday in the emergency meeting of the GCC Interior Ministers. Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, Minister of Interior, headed Oman delegation.


The meeting, held at the headquarters of the GCC Secretariat-General in Riyadh, discussed the latest security developments and joint coordination among member states, in addition to enhancing Gulf security cooperation in addressing current challenges, thereby contributing to the security and stability of the region.


The meeting underscored the importance of unifying efforts and exchanging information and expertise among security agencies. This is expected to advance the path of joint Gulf action and preserve the achievements of the member states.


Upon his arrival at the GCC Secretariat-General headquarters, Sayyid Hamoud was received by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif al Saud, Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Jassim Mohamed al Budaiwi, GCC Secretary-General.


The meeting was attended by Maj Gen Abdullah bin Ali al Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations.


It is worth to mention that Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, Minister of Interior, arrived at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh earlier today. He was received by Dr Khalid bin Mohammed al Battal, Deputy Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Najib bin Hilal al Busaidy, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Brigadier Hamad bin Ajlan al Amimi, GCC Assistant Secretary-General for Security Affairs and several officials from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. - ONA
