HM visits PDO to review key projects

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik visited the Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) in the Governorate of Muscat to review key projects and developments within the energy sector.

Upon His Majesty's arrival at the PDO HQ, he was received by the Minister of Energy and Minerals, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the chairman of the Board of Directors of PDO, and the company's Managing Director.

The PDO Managing Director, Dr. Aflah Al Hadhrami, delivered a welcoming address on the occasion of His Majesty the Sultan's visit.

"I extend my deepest gratitude and highest appreciation to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for honoring PDO with his first official visit to the Company, and for graciously presiding over the official inauguration of Bait Al Haitham, PDO's Integrated Operations Centre, a pioneering national project that marks a significant milestone in PDO's continued contribution to Oman's energy future," said Al Hadhrami.

His Majesty then viewed a presentation highlighting the company's key milestones and achievements in the oil and gas sector, showcasing its efforts in developing the environment.

His Majesty the Sultan unveiled a commemorative plaque, officially inaugurating the 'Bait Al-Haitham' Integrated Operations Center, the main control and command center for the energy sector in the Sultanate of Oman.

Established in line with His Majesty the Sultan's vision during the era of Renewed Renaissance, it will directly contribute to the sustainability of the national economy.

His Majesty the Sultan viewed the exhibition documenting the most important historical milestones of Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), its journey of institutional transformation, increased production, future strategic plans, and its initiatives in sustainability, digital transformation, and the development of national talent.

His Majesty the Sultan expressed his wish that all those working in the sector continue to have success and further achievements.

A group photograph was taken of His Majesty with a number of company employees to commemorate the visit.

His Majesty the Sultan inscribed a message in the visitors' book at the conclusion of his visit.
