The organisation of this league reflects the OSSA's ongoing efforts to develop school sports and identify and nurture young talent in team games, particularly volleyball and basketball. It also aims to promote physical activity, strengthen social bonds among students, and instil educational and sporting values, while expanding participation and guiding talented players toward national teams.

The preliminary rounds held across the educational directorates saw the participation of more than 3,000 students representing over 500 schools, supervised by more than 500 teachers, highlighting the growing interest in school sports in Oman.
