MUSCA: The second day of round 20 in the Jindal League produced two important results at opposite ends of the table, with Ibri securing a valuable 1-0 victory over Bahla, while Al Nahda was held to a goalless draw by Al Rustaq.

IBRI EDGE PAST BAHLA

Ibri claimed a precious 1-0 win over Bahla at Nizwa Sports Complex in a match marked by intensity and strong competition for all three points.

Ibri were the better side in the opening half and imposed themselves well on the game, creating several dangerous chances. They also had the ball in the net once, only for the effort to be ruled out for offside. Their pressure eventually paid off in the 25th minute when Philip Akah found the breakthrough to hand his side a deserved lead before the interval.

The second half saw Bahla push harder in search of an equaliser, but Ibri remained disciplined and organised at the back. The match became even more demanding for the home side after Abdullah bin Mohammed al Felaiti was sent off in the 52nd minute, yet Ibri responded with determination and defensive resilience to protect their advantage until the final whistle.

The result also reflected Ibri’s recent defensive improvement, with the side managing to keep a clean sheet despite playing with 10 men for much of the second half. Bahla, meanwhile, fell short of expectations and was unable to break down a compact and well-organised Ibri defence despite their increased pressure after the break.

The victory lifted Ibri to 17 points in 11th place, moving them temporarily away from the danger zone, while Bahla remained sixth on 31 points.

AL NAHDA FRUSTRATED BY AL RUSTAQ

At Al Rustaq Sports Complex, Al Nahda were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw against Al Rustaq in another round 20 fixture.

Neither side was able to find the net in the first half, despite both teams creating chances and showing attacking intent. The same pattern continued after the interval, with the two sides searching for the breakthrough but lacking the final touch in front of goal.

In the end, the match finished goalless, leaving Al Nahda with another costly slip in their pursuit of the leading pack.

The draw moved Al Nahda up to 32 points in fourth place, while Al Rustaq advanced to eight points but remained at the foot of the table.

For Al Nahda, the result meant a fourth straight match without a win, while Al Rustaq at least came away with a point in their ongoing fight to avoid the drop.
