The General Assembly of the International Tent Pegging Federation (ITPF) has re-elected Mohammed bin Issa al Fayrouz as President for the 2026–2030 term, reaffirming confidence in his leadership during the federation’s annual meeting held in Muscat. The session brought together representatives from 38 member nations, attending both in person and online.

Elections for the Board of Directors witnessed strong competition, with 15 candidates contesting eight available seats. The process was marked by transparency and the use of an advanced electronic voting system, ensuring full participation of member federations regardless of location.

The newly elected board includes representatives from several countries, including Oman, Qatar, Egypt, South Africa and Russia. Following the vote, the board appointed Anis bin Mohammed al Maamari as Vice-President for Executive Affairs and Haitham bin Mohammed al Lawati as Secretary-General.

In his address, Al Fayrouz expressed appreciation to the Government of Oman for its continued financial and logistical support in hosting the federation’s headquarters, highlighting the country’s role in advancing the sport at the international level.

The assembly also approved the federation’s administrative and financial reports for 2025 and outlined the international calendar for the 2026–2027 period. The schedule includes major events such as the Junior, Women’s, Military, and University Championships, as well as the Beach Tent Pegging Championship.

One of the key highlights of the meeting was a progress report on the 2026 ITPF World Cup, which will be hosted by Jordan. Officials confirmed that preparations are progressing as planned, while Oman and Russia were announced as hosts for the qualification rounds later this year.

The federation also highlighted key achievements in 2025, including the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Arab Equestrian Federation to include tent pegging in the Arab Games, along with new partnerships with the Saudi Equestrian Federation and the International Horseback Archery Alliance. These steps mark a new phase of global expansion for the sport.
