KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultanate of Oman on Wednesday participated in the Inter-Civilisation Academic Conference 2026, held in Malaysia.

Ahmed bin Saud al Siyabi, Secretary-General of the Fatwa Office at the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs and head of the delegation, presented a scholarly paper titled 'Islam and the Values of Global Coexistence: From Omani Roots to the Horizons of Civilisational Dialogue.'

In his paper, he highlighted the strong interconnection between theory and practice that has characterised the Sultanate of Oman throughout its successive stages of development and civilisational advancement in the realm of coexistence.

He further elaborated on the contribution the Omani model can offer the world in terms of practical applications and theoretical frameworks for achieving coexistence among diverse communities.

The two-day conference aims to provide a dialogue-driven environment that addresses the integration of cultural pluralism, grounded in the recognition of others and mutual respect among members of diverse societies. — ONA
