The Council also studied the progress made in the implementation of development projects and exchanged views about follow-up reports by its committees.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, Chairman of the Municipal Council.

During the meeting, the Municipal Council reviewed the outcome of its initiatives implemented in 2025. The initiatives covered the promotion of public health, the empowerment of the local community through Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications, child-upbringing programmes and other initiatives to raise public awareness about the importance of developing skills needed to join the labour market.

The Municipal Council also looked into follow-up reports by the three panels: The Health and Environment Committee, the Legal Committee and the Social Affairs Committee.

The meeting discussed replies from some government departments with regard to public services. Those included the reply of the Ministry of Health on the proposed establishment of a new hospital in the Wilayat of Sadah (within the current Five-Year Plan 2026-2030) and the reply of the Directorate-General of Heritage and Tourism on standards regulating taxi parking in waiting areas for hotels (4-star hotels, 5-star hotels).
