Muscat, March 24 — The semi-finals of the Jetour Cup for the 2025-2026 season have been officially postponed to Tuesday, March 31, after the continued effects of the low-pressure system currently influencing weather conditions across parts of the Sultanate of Oman.
The decision was taken by the League Association in coordination with the Competitions Committee, which cited force majeure circumstances and the need to ensure the safety of players, referees, club personnel and supporters. The two semi-final fixtures had originally been scheduled for Thursday, March 26, before being moved to the new date.
Under the revised schedule, Al Nahda will host Sur at Al Buraimi Sports Complex at 5:55 pm, while Sohar will travel to face defending champions Seeb at Al Seeb Stadium at 8:10 pm.
The postponement comes at a decisive stage of the competition, with all four remaining teams still firmly in contention for a place in the final. For Seeb in particular, the delay means a slightly longer wait before continuing their latest title defence in a tournament they have dominated in recent years.
Seeb reached the last four after finishing top of Group A with 13 points, collected from four wins, one draw and one defeat. They scored 11 goals and conceded six, once again demonstrating the balance and consistency that have made them one of the most complete sides in the competition. Their semi-final against Sohar now carries added significance as they attempt to move one step closer to a fourth consecutive Jetour Cup title.
The Muscat side has won each of the last three editions of the tournament, including the 2024-2025 final, when they defeated Bahla 2-1 at Seeb Stadium on May 18, 2025. That sustained success has reinforced Seeb’s status as the benchmark side in the competition and a team with proven experience in handling decisive knockout ties.
Sur, meanwhile, booked their place in the semi-finals after finishing runners-up in Group A with 12 points from four wins and two defeats. They scored seven goals and conceded seven, doing enough to progress and set up a difficult away assignment against Al Nahda.
Al Nahda entered the semi-finals after topping Group B with 12 points, gathered from three wins and three draws in six matches. They found the net 13 times and conceded only five goals, numbers that underline both their attacking sharpness and defensive organisation. Their consistency throughout the group stage has made them one of the strongest contenders remaining in the tournament.
Sohar also advanced from Group B after finishing second with 11 points from three wins, two draws and one defeat. They scored nine goals and conceded nine, and will now attempt to halt Seeb’s march and deny the holders another appearance in the final. For Sohar, the challenge is about more than simply reaching the title match; it is also an opportunity to move closer to what would be a first-ever triumph in the competition.
