His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, issued the special royal pardon for a group of prisoners convicted in various cases.
An official source in the Royal Oman Police stated that 350 prisoners, including foreigners, were pardoned.
The royal pardon coincides with the occasion of Eid al-Fitr for the year 1447 AH, and in consideration of the families of these inmates.
