

Seeb Club secured a valuable 54-50 victory over Al Amerat Club in the opening match of the final qualifiers of the Youth Basketball League for the 2025-2026 sports season.
In the second match, Salalah Club defeated Nizwa Club 80-77 in a thrilling encounter that extended to an extra period. The two matches were played at the secondary hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.
With the results, Seeb moved to six points, Salalah increased their tally to five points, Al Amerat reached four points, while Nizwa remained on three points.
In the first match, Seeb clinched a hard-fought 54-50 win over Al Amerat in an exciting and closely contested match. Seeb’s standout performers included Abdulrahman al Mamari, Azzan al Ajmi and Azd al Bahlani, while Noah Brank and Mazin al Owaisi delivered strong performances for Al Amerat.
Seeb began strongly and controlled the first quarter, opening an early advantage to lead 16-8. In the second quarter, Al Amerat responded with a stronger attacking and defensive display, scoring 22 points while restricting Seeb to seven to take a 30-23 lead at halftime.
The third quarter saw a balanced contest, though Seeb held a slight edge after scoring 13 points against Al Amerat’s 12, leaving Al Amerat ahead 42-36 heading into the final period. In the fourth quarter, Seeb regained momentum and attacking rhythm, scoring 18 points while limiting Al Amerat to eight to complete a comeback and secure the 54-50 victory.
Salalah beat Nizwa
In the second match, Salalah defeated Nizwa 80-77 in a dramatic contest that went into an extra fifth period. Salalah were led by Qaisar al Balushi, Mishaal Kafkaf and Mohab al Hambasi, while Akram al Rashdi, Neil al Adaki and Younis al Shuraiqi led the scoring efforts for Nizwa.
The opening quarter ended level at 17-17 after an evenly contested start. Nizwa gained a slight advantage in the second quarter, scoring 20 points compared to Salalah’s 19 to take a narrow 37-36 lead into halftime.
Salalah responded strongly in the third quarter, scoring 15 points against Nizwa’s 12 to move ahead 51-49. Nizwa then fought back in the fourth quarter, adding 16 points against Salalah’s 14 to level the match at 65-65 at the end of regulation time.
In the decisive extra period, Salalah proved the stronger side, scoring 15 points against Nizwa’s 12 to seal an 80-77 victory.
