HM receives a phone call from the Iranian president

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, received a phone call from Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

They reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to foster them. They also discussed the latest developments of the current situation as well as efforts to de-escalate tensions.

His Majesty emphasized the Sultanate of Oman’s neutral stance and its dissatisfaction with and condemnation of the continued attacks on its territories. He affirmed that the Sultanate of Oman will take all necessary measures to maintain its security and stability.

Both sides stressed the need to halt escalation and prioritize dialogue and diplomacy to spare the region the repercussions of war which threatens the security and stability of nations.
