Ghazi Ramadan Tournament witnesses thrilling matches

Excitement continued in the Ghazi Ramadan Football Tournament in the Wilayat of Sur, as Round 16 delivered a thrilling evening packed with goals and competitive action, reflecting the strong momentum of the tournament’s 23rd edition. The matches were played in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the indoor hall of the Sur Sports Complex.


In the opening match, Mubadara Qalhat Healthy Village Team maintained their impressive form with a 4–1 victory over Sur Healthy City Team. Qalhat imposed their attacking dominance early on, with Abdullah bin Saeed al Shuaibi scoring twice, while Munir bin Salim al Shuaibi added one goal and Rabeea bin Salim al Shuaibi completed the four-goal tally. Yousuf Mohammed Abdullah scored the lone goal for Sur Healthy City.

The second match produced one of the biggest scorelines of the tournament so far, as Oman Sail defeated Oman Post 9–3 in a highly offensive encounter. Juma bin Naseeb al Mukhaini stole the spotlight with a remarkable six-goal performance. Sultan al Hashmi, Mubarak al Hilouli, and Muhannad al Araimi each added one goal. For Oman Post, Mazin al Hashmi scored a hat-trick, but his efforts were not enough to prevent a heavy defeat.


In the third fixture, the Directorate General of Health Services secured a convincing 6–2 win over the Directorate of Education in a fast-paced contest. Abdullah bin Nasser al Musharafi and Ahmed bin Mohammed al Araimi each scored twice, while Ahmed bin Mahfoudh al Mukhaini and Saeed al Hatrooshi added one goal apiece. Maed al Mukhaini and Ali al Araimi netted the two goals for the Directorate of Education.

The evening concluded with Al Oruba Club claiming a 6–1 victory over the Roads Department, continuing their strong run in the competition. Goals for Al Oruba were scored by Zamel al Balushi, Khalid bin Mubarak al Arabmi, Salim Mahfoudh, Qais al Balushi, Hamza Atef, and Ahmed al Mukhaini. Yousuf bin Musbah al Farsi scored the only goal for the Roads Department.


These results underline the attacking nature of the tournament, which continues to witness rising competition among participating teams. As the rounds progress, the race for the title intensifies in what has become one of the most prominent Ramadan sporting events in the Wilayat of Sur.
