The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) has launched the Experiences initiative, a new programme designed to harness the expertise of retired Omani professionals to support development across economic zones, free zones and industrial cities.
Unveiled during an OPAZ press conference, the initiative emerged from discussions at the Together Forward forum and aims to create a structured national database of expertise across multiple disciplines. The focus is on utilising accumulated experience in consultancy, project management, training and knowledge transfer to enhance institutional performance.
OPAZ said the initiative reflects its strategy to maximise the use of national talent, particularly retirees from the public and private sectors, while ensuring continuity of institutional knowledge and stronger integration between professional generations.
The database will capture academic qualifications, professional backgrounds and areas of specialisation, enabling OPAZ and zone administrations to engage national competencies according to specific operational needs and improve overall efficiency.
OPAZ invited interested professionals to register via its official website by completing the designated form and uploading their CVs.
The Authority said the Experiences initiative represents a practical step towards transforming national expertise into tangible added value, supporting economic development and strengthening performance across projects and initiatives within the special economic zones, free zones and industrial cities overseen by Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones.
