Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced a temporary ban on truck movement during specific hours in the blessed month of Ramadhan to reduce traffic congestion.

From Sunday to Thursday, trucks will be prohibited from operating between 7:00 am and 9:30 am, and again from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

On Saturdays, the restriction will apply from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm on designated roads.

These include Sultan Qaboos Road, from Al Qurm Intersection in Muscat Governorate to Khatmat Milaha Border Post in North Al Batinah Governorate, and Sultan Thuwayni bin Said Road, from Burj Al Sahwa Roundabout in Muscat Governorate to Bidbid Bridge in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. The measure also covers main roads in Muscat Governorate.

The ROP urged drivers and transport companies to comply with the announced timings to support smoother traffic flow during the holy month.
