

MUSCAT: Majlis Ash’shura will host Dr Laila bint Ahmed al Najjar, Minister of Social Development today to deliver her ministry’s statement to the council members in a public session.
The statement of the Minister of Social Development, which the council will discuss during its tenth and eleventh regular sessions of the third ordinary session of the tenth term (2023-2027), includes six axes. The first axis addresses the issue of juvenile delinquency in the Sultanate of Oman and the preventive and awareness programmes in this regard. The second point will cover the family development sector and the ministry’s plans to develop family protection programmes and strengthen family cohesion, in addition to its efforts to support national values and identity and the role of social welfare and civil society organisations.
The third axis will discuss the most prominent social phenomena and changes facing society in the Sultanate of Oman. It will highlight the social policies adopted to address these phenomena and changes, the scientific research and studies that monitored them during the period (2023-2025), and the resulting recommendations, along with the solutions and measures taken to mitigate these social phenomena.
