MUSCAT: At the behest of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Majlis Ash’shura will commence its third ordinary convening (2025-2026) of the tenth term (2023-2027) on Sunday, November 9.


Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of Majlis Ash’shura, stated that the Majlis continues to perform its legislative and oversight roles in active partnership with state institutions, within the framework of implementing Oman Vision 2040.


He noted that the first half of the tenth term involved discussing 47 draft laws and agreements, and 466 follow-up instruments, in addition to the consensus between both councils on 14 draft laws, 13 of which have been issued as Royal Decrees.


He added that the agenda for the third convening will include discussing the state's general budget for 2026 and the eleventh Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030), alongside the election of the Majlis' office members for the second half of the tenth term and the discussion of several draft laws and agreements.


He also indicated that the Majlis will hold its annual media briefing on November 5 to enhance communication with the media, affirming the Majlis' commitment to ensuring information availability and promoting community partnership, reflecting its role in following up on national issues and supporting development efforts across various sectors. — ONA
