AL MUSANNAH: Under the auspices of Eng Masoud bin Said al Hashmi, Governor of Al Batinah South, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Al Musannah hosted its Alumni Forum 2026 on February 11.

The event was attended by the Assistant Vice-Chancellor of the branch and his deputies, underscoring the university’s continued commitment to sustained engagement with its graduates as active partners in development and nation-building.

The forum celebrated the achievements of alumni across diverse professional fields, while creating new opportunities for networking, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas. The programme featured official remarks, a visual presentation titled 'Alumni Journey,' musical and interactive segments, and a showcase under the theme 'Stories Worth the Spotlight,' linked to the Alumni Excellence Award.

A key highlight of the event was the recognition of finalists of the Alumni Excellence Award, launched during the previous edition of the forum.

The award honours graduates who have demonstrated distinguished accomplishments in innovation and invention, professional excellence, entrepreneurship, and culture and arts. This year, 10 outstanding alumni were recognised for their achievements.

The Alumni Forum reinforces the strategic partnership between the university and its graduates by leveraging their professional expertise to support academic programmes, student initiatives, and institutional development. It also seeks to strengthen alignment between educational outcomes and labour market demands, while positioning alumni as inspiring role models for current students — a testament to the university’s success in preparing competitive national talent capable of sustainable excellence.

Dr Nasser bin Salem al Bimani, Assistant Vice-Chancellor, described Alumni Forum 2026 as a strategic milestone in deepening long-term engagement with graduates.

He emphasised that the university’s relationship with its alumni extends well beyond graduation, built on sustained communication and impactful partnerships across development sectors.

He added that alumni remain true ambassadors of the university’s mission and key partners in advancing its future vision and institutional presence.
