AL RUSTAQ: Field teams from the Environment Authority (EA) in Al Batinah South Governorate have eradicated 12,597 invasive birds over the past two months.

The operation, carried out with the participation of local community members, used approved measures to ensure the safety of other wildlife species.

This effort marks the second phase of a national campaign targeting invasive birds such as the Myna starling and the Indian crow.

The campaign supports Oman’s broader goals of protecting natural resources, preserving biodiversity and advancing sustainable development, in cooperation with government agencies and the community. — ONA
