MUSCAT: Dr Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Minister of Information, received at his office on Monday Salman bin Yousef al Dosari, Minister of Media of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


The meeting took place within the framework of the Saudi minister's visit to the Sultanate of Oman.


During the meeting, the two sides underscored the depth of the longstanding fraternal and historical ties between Oman and Saudi Arabia. They highlighted the sustained progress across all domains of bilateral cooperation, a trajectory advanced under the prudent leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud, alongside His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


The two ministers also explored avenues to advance and strengthen media partnership between the two nations. Discussions encompassed collaboration in journalism, television, radio, and digital and electronic media, as well as initiatives for professional training and the exchange of expertise among media personnel, all aimed at serving their shared interests.


During the meeting, they addressed recent developments in the media landscape, including the accelerating pace of the digital revolution. They considered the application of modern technologies and artificial intelligence to elevate the quality of media content, in addition to the vital awareness-building and guidance functions performed by the media sector.


The meeting was attended by a number of officials from both sides. - ONA
