

SUR: Al Sharqiyah South Governorate witnessed the implementation of distinctive packages of digital projects and initiatives during 2025. This included the digitisation of 14 government services, the completion of 5,694 digital government transactions and the full execution of 12 digital projects, while work is ongoing to implement 4 other digital projects.
Eng Abdullah bin Saif al Araimi, Head of Digital Transformation Team in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate, stated that this work comes within an integrated phased framework aimed at enhancing performance efficiency, raising the readiness of the digital infrastructure and achieving a sustainable impact on service quality.
He indicated that the Digital Transformation Plan (2026–2030) has been prepared, the ‘Al Sharqiyah South Hackathon’ was implemented in cooperation with Oman Investment Authority, the ‘Smart Helmet’ project was launched to enhance fieldwork using augmented reality and the ‘Smart Lighting’ project was launched as part of smart city initiatives.
He affirmed that these achievements reflect the ongoing institutional efforts within the integrated national path of the government digital transformation programme (Transformation). - ONA
