SHINAS: Al Batinah North Municipality on Wednesday opened Shinas Public Park, which serves as a key recreational destination in the Wilayat of Shinas. The project is an outcome of efforts made by Shinas Municipality to enhance leisure facilities in the wilayat.

Eng Hassan bin Ali al Barmani, Head of the Municipality Department in the Wilayat of Shinas, said that Shinas Public Park would greatly contribute to enhancing the quality of life. He added that the park caters to the needs of different age groups and provides a suitable environment for recreation and physical fitness activities.

He explained that the park comprises fountains, a children’s play area that provides 15 games, a sprint racing track, a multi-purpose sports playground and other facilities that support physical activity.

Al Barmani pointed out that green spaces in the park extend over an area of 14,175 square metres. These, he observed, contribute to improving the overall aesthetic landscape and promote the concepts of environmental sustainability.

The event was held under the auspices of Shaikh Abdullah bin Salim al Hajri, Wali of Shinas. - ONA
