NAKHAL: Nakhal Public Park in Al Batinah South Governorate was officially reopened after the completion of major development and renovation works, under the auspices of Nasr bin Hamoud al Kindi, Secretary-General of the Royal Court Affairs.
The project, one of the governorate’s most prominent service and leisure developments this year, reflects Nakhal’s commitment to creating integrated recreational spaces that cater to all segments of society.
Spanning about 50,000 square metres, the park was completed at a cost exceeding RO 459,000, with total investment surpassing RO 550,000. The 16-month project upgraded all facilities to the highest standards of quality, safety and sustainability. The revamped park features expansive green areas, shaded walking paths and seating, children’s play zones and an open-air theatre for cultural and community events. Visitors can also enjoy a waterfall and dry fountain area, prayer rooms for men and women with restrooms; and two commercial kiosks offering various services.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Saleh al Busaidy, Wali of Nakhal, said the project is a qualitative addition to the state’s recreational infrastructure and underscores ongoing efforts to enhance quality of life and strengthen social and tourism activity. Project Manager Engineer Balqis bint Hamad al Subhi said the park was developed to the highest standards of quality and safety; and is expected to become a key leisure destination for residents and visitors alike.
On the investment side, the park includes an equestrian area, an electric games zone and a motorcycle area, supporting diverse recreational options and local investment opportunities. — ONA
