

SUHAR: An entrepreneurship centre affiliated to the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada) was opened in the Wilayat of Suhar, Al Batinah North Governorate, on Thursday.
The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Kindi, Governor of Al Batinah North, and attended by Halima bint Rashid al Zariyah, Chairperson of the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED), in addition to heads of government departments and private sector establishments in the governorate.
The centre constitutes a step forward in supporting entrepreneurs and fostering an innovation system. It will offer a comprehensive set of services, including co-working spaces, offices, guidance and training opportunities. The centre will also provide networking with investors and experts, as well as technical, administrative and financing opportunities that enable SMEs to grow and expand in the market.
Riyada has a total of 29 centres serving 111 SMEs and providing employment for 259 Omanis. A special feature in Riyada centre is that they furnish a favourable business climate, initiate new employment opportunities and contribute economic diversification and sustainable development. — ONA
