Muscat: Oman Club returned to winning ways after a difficult run of form, defeating their guests, Bahla, 2–0 at Seeb Sports Stadium in the closing match of Round 9 of the 2025–26 Jindal League on Thursday. The victory ended a negative streak that had seen Oman lose their previous two matches and draw the one before them, allowing the team to collect three valuable points and restore balance to their league campaign.
Both sides entered the match with high competitive intensity, exchanging early attacks in midfield before Oman made their early dominance count in the sixth minute. Bassam Salem al Shain pounced on a loose ball inside the penalty area and calmly placed it into the net, giving his team an early psychological and technical advantage.
After conceding, Bahla pushed forward in search of an equaliser and launched several attacking moves, but poor finishing and hurried decision-making denied them a breakthrough. Omani goalkeeper Abdulaziz al Hasani stood firm, producing several key saves to keep his goal intact.
At the other end, Oman relied on strong defensive organisation and quick counter-attacks. Their back line successfully neutralised Bahla’s attacking threats, while Mohammed al Maashari and his midfield teammates controlled the tempo and built structured attacks. However, Oman were unable to add a second goal before the end of the first half.
FRESH ENERGY
At the start of the second half, Oman’s Moroccan coach Idriss al Murabit introduced Ahmed al Sayabi, who added fresh energy to the attacking line. The substitution paid off in the 50th minute when Al Hareth al Makhaini finished off a well-worked move, exchanging passes with Al Sayabi before firing a powerful shot past goalkeeper Ibrahim al Kindi to double Oman’s lead.
The goal forced Bahla to raise the tempo once again as they improved their midfield presence and increased their attacking threat. They came close on several occasions, most notably through Abdul Salam al Shukaili, whose effort narrowly missed the post.
As the match entered the final 15 minutes, Bahla dominated possession in search of a way back into the game, but Oman’s disciplined defence and the outstanding performance of goalkeeper Abdulaziz al Hasani ensured the scoreline remained unchanged. The final whistle confirmed a deserved 2–0 victory for the home side.
With this result, Oman Club moved up to seventh place on 13 points, while Bahla remained sixth with 15 points, as the race in the league table continues to intensify with each passing round.
