MUSCAT, JAN 8
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion launched, on Wednesday, January 7, at Mall of Oman, the third edition of the National Campaign for Discounts and Promotional Offers campaign titled ‘Oman Celebrates’. The campaign marks the Accession Day of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
The launch ceremony was held in the presence of Dr Saleh bin Said Masan, Under-Secretary for Commerce and Industry, and Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with a number of officials and representatives from both the public and private sectors.
Running from January 11 to February 11, the campaign aims to strengthen public–private sector partnerships, stimulate economic and commercial activity, and boost overall trade momentum across the Sultanate of Oman. It also seeks to provide widely consumed products at affordable prices for various segments of society, while supporting shopping malls and brand outlets in a way that enhances their sales performance and strengthens their market presence.
Nasra bint Sultan al Habsiyah, Director General of Trade at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, explained that the campaign will feature discounts of no less than 30 percent, alongside accompanying promotional offers, including prize draws, giveaways, and instant gifts, implemented under clear regulations to ensure transparency and protect consumer rights.
She added that applications to participate in the campaign will be submitted through the Oman Business Platform, with a unified application process for enterprises operating branches in more than one governorate, contributing to streamlined procedures and faster participation.
Jumaa bin Khalfan al Fulaity, Vice President of Retail Banking at Oman Arab Bank, said that the bank’s participation in the campaign stems from its strategic partnership with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and its belief in the importance of national initiatives that contribute to stimulating the local economy, supporting commercial activity, enhancing consumer confidence, and empowering small and medium enterprises across the Sultanate’s governorates.
He added that the ‘Oman Celebrates’ campaign has served as an effective national platform, providing companies and traders with genuine opportunities to participate in the economic landscape, noting that the bank was keen for its contribution to be an extension of its role as a national financial institution supporting growth pathways and backing government efforts to achieve economic development objectives.
Visa’s Oman General Manager, Nasser Bdeir, said that Visa’s participation in the campaign comes as part of its commitment to supporting economic ecosystems that enable trade, enhance payment efficiency, and develop the business environment, in line with the economic transformations underway in the Sultanate of Oman.
