Muscat: The National Emergency Preparedness Exercise “Watan 2025” concluded in Muscat following two days of field implementation, carried out by the National Committee for Emergency Management in cooperation with its sectoral and subsidiary committees in the Governorate of Muscat.

The concluding activities included a comprehensive briefing on the exercise, its objectives and scenarios, in addition to the execution of several operational simulations that replicated expected developments during emergency situations, including evacuation, search and rescue operations.

The exercise aimed to assess readiness levels and coordination among various concerned entities, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and enhance integration between relevant agencies. It also sought to achieve a more effective and flexible national response capable of dealing efficiently with potential emergency scenarios through the implemented simulations.

Officials noted that the national exercise forms part of the committee’s ongoing efforts to strengthen national preparedness in handling emergencies. Such exercises play a key role in testing plans and procedures, improving the efficiency of response teams, and unifying efforts between military, security and civilian agencies.

The exercise contributes to ensuring an integrated and effective response to protect lives and property, while reinforcing public safety and security across the Sultanate.
