The Oman Meteorology stated that the governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, North al Batinah, and Al Dhahirah will experience rainfall of varying intensity, accompanied by a chance of thunderstorms and hail. Heavy rainfall has been reported in places like Ibri, Buraimi, and Mussandam.

Over most of the Sultanate of Oman, winds will be westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate in intensity, and fresh over desert areas, open areas, and the coastal areas of Musandam and the Sea of Oman.

Rough along the Musandam and Oman sea coasts with a maximum wave height of 2.5 to 3.5 meters and slight to moderate over the Arabian sea coasts with a maximum wave height of 1.25 to 2.0 meters.

Reduction in the horizontal visibility in thundershowers and dust-rising sites

The Oman Meteorology also announced that Friday marks the beginning of the first cold wave of this season.

The Sultanate of Oman will be affected by the first cold wave, starting on Friday, December 19, 2025, as temperatures are expected to drop noticeably in most of the governorates.

Nama Electricity Distribution Company said that service has been restored to the areas affected by the power outage in Musandam Governorate due to the heavy rains affecting some governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, except the mountainous part of Lima and some coastal areas.
