Several areas of Dhofar Governorate witnessed rainfall of varying intensity on Wednesday, accompanied at times by thundershowers.

Moderate rains were reported in Salalah city, Mirbat, and Taqah, while Marmoul in the Wilayat of Shaleem and the Al Halaniyat Islands also experienced moderate showers. The downpour led to wadis overflowing in some locations following the impact of a trough of low pressure affecting the governorates of Dhofar, North and South al Sharqiyah, and al Wusta.

According to the Oman Meteorology Office, cloud cover will continue over Dhofar, al Wusta and South al Sharqiyah governorates, with chances of scattered rainfall forecast in the coming hours. The office added that coastal areas of Dhofar and the adjoining mountains witnessed rainfall of varying intensity, with occasional thundershowers recorded early on Wednesday morning.

Authorities have advised the public to exercise caution during rainfall, avoid crossing overflowing wadis, and follow official weather updates.
