ASHGABAT: The Sultanate of Oman participated on Friday in the international forum “Peace and Trust: Unifying Goals for a Sustainable Future”, held in the Turkmenistan capital, Ashgabat, to mark the International Year of Peace and Trust 2025; and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality. The forum saw the participation of leaders and ministers of more than 60 countries and international organisations.

The Oman delegation was headed by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister.

The Sultanate of Oman's participation in this international forum embodies its ongoing commitment to supporting peace building initiatives and its dedication to promoting preventive diplomacy, encouraging dialogue, understanding and harmony among nations. This commitment is based on the principles of its foreign policy, which are founded on mutual respect, good neighbourliness, non-interference in the internal affairs of others, adherence to peaceful dispute resolution and support for initiatives that enhance security and shared interests among peoples.

On the sidelines of the meeting Sayyid Badr met his counterparts Hakan Fidan of Türkiye; Abbas Araghchi of Iran; Bakhtiyor Saidov of Uzbekistan; Rashid Meredov of Turkmenistan; and Mohammad Ishaq Dar of Pakistan. The ministers discussed bilateral ties and regional developments. — ONA
