MUSCAT: Nearly 90 environmental enthusiasts from the Muscat Governorate, all part of the Oman Mountains Heroes Team, armed with grabbers and pickers to clean up the Bausher sand dunes — a popular spot for adventurers and motor enthusiasts.

The cleanup drive, organised by the NGO in cooperation with Centara Hotel, resulted in nearly 50 bags of waste collected in just three hours. The trash included aluminium cans, plastic bags, cups, bottles, and discarded motor parts, said Manar Allouzi, one of the key organisers of the initiative.

“We, at the Bausher Sands Cleanup Campaign, aim to raise environmental awareness and help preserve the beauty and cleanliness of this area. We regularly conduct cleanup drives across beaches and sand dunes,” Allouzi said, adding that the initiative welcomes anyone willing to contribute to this meaningful volunteer effort to keep Oman’s natural landscapes clean and beautiful.
