

GOVERNORATES OF OMAN: Festivities marking the glorious National Day of Oman echoed across several governorates, as officials, dignitaries and citizens joined together to celebrate the nation’s pride, heritage and continued progress under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
In Muscat, Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidy, Governor of Muscat, hosted a formal reception attended by their excellencies and highnesses, ambassadors, members of the State and Majlis Ash’shura, senior officials, shaikhs, elders and notable figures of the governorate. Attendees extended heartfelt congratulations on this cherished national occasion, offering prayers for the Sultanate’s continued prosperity and stability.
In Dhofar, celebrations took place at the ‘Return to the Past’ event site in Al Saada, Salalah, under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar. The evening featured a national operetta expressing loyalty and unity, alongside artistic performances highlighting the historical journey of the Al Busaid state from its inception to the era of renewed renaissance.
In Musandam, the skies over Khasab were illuminated by a spectacular fireworks display organised by the General Secretariat for National Celebrations. The dazzling colours mirrored the Omani flag, creating a vibrant atmosphere of joy and patriotism as large crowds gathered to witness the festivities.
In Al Buraimi, National Day activities commenced at Al Buraimi Public Park, attracting enthusiastic public participation. The programme included paragliding shows, traditional arts such as Al Ayyala, theatrical performances, competitions and musical evenings, celebrating Omani identity and cultural pride over four consecutive nights.
Meanwhile, Al Sharqiyah North Governorate observed the occasion through official receptions in various wilayats, including Ibra, Al Mudhaibi, Bidiyah, Al Qabil, Wadi Bani Khalid, Dima W'attayeen and Sinaw. Governors and walis received well-wishers from government institutions, military and civil sectors, shaikhs, dignitaries and citizens. The celebrations featured speeches, poetry, visual presentations on developmental achievements and traditional Omani arts, along with festive activities such as horse and camel shows.
Across all governorates, the National Day celebrations reflected deep feelings of loyalty, unity and pride, reinforcing the strong bond between the leadership and the people, and affirming Oman’s continued journey towards progress and prosperity. – ONA
