Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, on Sunday received Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan.

Sayyid Badr commended the profound and deeply rooted relations between Oman and Jordan. He highlighted the consistent support and high-level attention these ties receive from both nations' leadership, which serves to continually develop and enrich bilateral cooperation across a diverse range of fields.

The discussions featured a comprehensive review of the bilateral relationship and explored pathways to elevate this partnership to wider horizons, with particular focus on political, economic, educational, and tourism domains. The meeting also examined opportunities for expanding joint investments and strengthening collaborative efforts in vital sectors such as food security, logistics, and communications, in step with the shared aspirations of both countries.

The two ministers engaged in an exchange of perspectives on pressing regional and international developments, giving primary focus to the grave situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. They jointly underscored the critical imperative to cease escalation, ensure the protection of civilians, and redouble efforts dedicated to revitalising the political process. This, they affirmed, is essential to achieving a comprehensive and just resolution that secures the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Ayman Safadi conveyed his nation's deep appreciation for the steadfast and balanced diplomatic efforts of the Sultanate of Oman and its constructive role in bolstering regional security and stability. He further reaffirmed Jordan's steadfast commitment to enhancing cooperation and deepening coordination with the Sultanate of Oman on all matters of mutual interest. — ONA
