The Royal Camel Corps (RCC) continued its selection of elite racing camels for purchase on the third day, Tuesday, of the valuation races at Al Felaij Track in the Wilayat of Barka, which saw strong performances in the Lagaya category.


‘Mukhifah’, owned by Salim bin Salim al Wahibi, earned purchase after claiming first place in the second round. ‘Hamloulah’, owned by Abdullah bin Sultan al Ghafili, secured acquisition after finishing runner-up in the same round. Meanwhile, ‘Maseerah’, owned by Hammoud bin Sultan al Ghafili, joined the purchased list after topping the fourth round with a commanding performance.


During the fourth race of the 2025–26 camel racing season, organised by the Oman Camel Racing Federation (OCRF) in cooperation with the RCC, as well as include qualifications for HM’s Cup scheduled for April 2026.


The day featured a total of 24 rounds for the Lagaya category, three years old, over a distance of 5 km, with competitive fields and strong participation from camel owners across the Sultanate of Oman.


On November 19, the Elythaa category, four years old, will headline the programme with 13 rounds, including six rounds over 6 km and seven rounds over 5 km.


The final day on November 20 will feature six rounds for the Thanaya category, five years old, followed by six rounds for the Al Hawl category, six years and above, all contested over 6 km.
