Truck driver arrested for smuggling 23 illegal migrants

Muscat:  The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested a truck driver in Al Wusta Governorate for transporting 23 African nationals who had entered the Sultanate illegally from the Republic of Yemen.

In a statement, the ROP said the operation was carried out by the Police Command in Al Wusta, in cooperation with the Special Tasks Police Unit in the Wilayat of Hima. The individuals were apprehended after entering the country through unauthorized routes.

Authorities confirmed that legal proceedings are underway against the driver and the detained individuals, as part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal infiltration and human smuggling.
