MUSCAT, NOV 8

Saham stole the spotlight and deepened Dhofar’s struggles with a well-deserved 3–1 victory in their match at Sohar Sports Complex, as part of Round 6 of the Jindal Football League.

Saham started strong, taking the lead early in the 6th minute when defender Fahad al Hajri accidentally sent a cross from Ali al Hashmi into his own net.

In the 42nd minute, Dhofar equalised through Mutaz Saleh Abdurabuh, who successfully converted a penalty kick, ending the first half in a 1–1 draw despite multiple Saham attempts led by Mohsen Jowhar.

In the second half, Saham maintained its dominance with organised play and high pressing, and their foreign striker, Owen Atikor Romokik netted the second goal in the 52nd minute. Substitute Nooh al Araimi sealed the win with a third goal in stoppage time (90+3).

The match was packed with drama as three players were sent off: Firas al Soori from Dhofar received a red card first, followed by Nooh al Araimi (after scoring) and Abdulmaeen al Marzouqi from Saham, leaving Saham with nine players against ten.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Saham remained composed until the final whistle, claiming a valuable win that lifted them to 10 points in 5th place, while Dhofar slipped to 11th with 5 points.

Saham’s goalkeeper Hassan bin Rashid al Buraiki also sustained an injury during the match but managed to continue after treatment.

Al NASR STAGE A THRILLING COMEBACK TO DEFEAT IBRI 4-1

At Al Saada Sports Complex, Al Nasr turned the tables on Ibri, coming from behind to secure a 4–1 victory in another exciting Round 6 clash.

Ibri took the lead in the 28th minute through Hudhaifa al Balushi, who capitalised on a fast counterattack and fired a powerful shot past goalkeeper Ibrahim al Rajhi. Despite several attempts, including a close strike from Fahad Adel in the 40th minute, Al Nasr ended the first half trailing 0–1.

With the start of the second half, Al Nasr adopted an attacking approach, and Mulhim al Sunaidy equalised in the 49th minute with a long-range effort before scoring again in the 53rd minute following a precise pass inside the box.

Ibri’s foreign player Bissan Jakus missed a golden chance to equalise in the 63rd minute with a header that was brilliantly saved by Al Rajhi. As Al Nasr continued pressing, substitute Jassim al Noobi added the third goal in stoppage time (90+1), while al Sunaidy completed his hat-trick in the final minute to seal a comprehensive win.

This result lifted Al Nasr to 10 points and 4th place, while Ibri remained in 13th place with no points.

SUR TRIUMPH 5–1 OVER AL RUSTAQ

At Sur Sports Complex, Sur recorded a commanding 5–1 victory over Rustaq, showcasing an impressive attacking display.

Goals for Sur came from Mohammed al Mukhaini, Yousuf al Mukhaini, Sameh al Hasani, and two goals by Humaid al Wuhaibi, while Mohammed al Adawi netted Al Rustaq’s lone goal.

The win lifted Sur to 4 points in 12th place, while Al Rustaq remained at the bottom of the standings with zero-points, extending their poor run of results in the league.
