Hundreds of sports enthusiasts and environmental lovers are expected to take part in the highly ambitious 'Strides for Nature Charity Run', an exciting new initiative dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Oman’s environmental causes by the Environment Society of Oman.

This is the first time ESO is organising such an event, aligning it with World Cleanup Day to highlight the urgency of protecting Oman’s environment. The run will be led by Fahad al Albri, Oman’s Guinness World Record holder, and will bring together people of all ages to stride towards a greener future.

Speaking to the Observer, a representative from the ESO said that the first-ever run has already attracted people of all ages and registration is progressing quickly.

"We have so far confirmed 415 participants, while many hundreds are expected to take part in the maiden run for the environment," he said.

The charity run, which will be held on September 20 at 4 pm at Al Qurum Beach, aims to increase awareness of environmental conservation efforts in the region as well as to raise funds for environmental conservation projects in Oman.

"We believe events like this will play a valuable role in amplifying ESO's mission to protect Oman’s natural heritage, inspire the community, and strengthen the impact of this initiative."

Suaad al Harthy, ESO’s Executive Director, will join Fahad al Abri in the run that welcomes people from all walks of life.
