MUSCAT: Al Rahma Association, a motherhood and childhood care institution, launched a project to set up an orphans’ support building codenamed 'Al Khair Wafi' (Goodness is Abundant).
The launch ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Laila bint Ahmed al Najjar, Minister of Social Development.
The proceeds of the building will be allocated to finance programmes in support of Al Rahma Association’s registered orphans — a total of 1,439 from different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
These association’s programmes seek to meet the basic needs of orphans, including school supplies, Eid clothing and methods to hone the skills of the orphans and provide them with expertise in various fields.
The launch of the project is in pursuance of 'Al Khair Wafi' initiative, first launched by Al Rahma Association in 2018, to lend support to orphans through a variety of sustainable projects. — ONA
