MHT urges caution for tourists amid prevailing weather conditions

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism called on all tourism establishments across the Sultanate of Oman to exercise caution and continue adhering to public safety procedures in light of the prevailing weather conditions.

The ministry stressed the importance of maintaining vigilance and ensuring precautionary measures are in place to safeguard visitors and facilities.

In particular, the ministry urged visitors to Dhofar Governorate to remain cautious while undertaking tours and excursions, emphasising that their safety remains a priority.

Recently, a tourist lost his life in a tragic mountain climbing accident in the Wilayat of Mirbat, Dhofar Governorate.Rescue and ambulance teams from the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority, with the help of local citizens, responded to the incident after the tourist slipped while attempting to climb a steep slope in Jabal Samhan. The fall caused him to sustain severe injuries that led to his death at the scene.
